this is NOT the breed for everyone. I would have to agree, but if you have a sense of humor, live a reasonably active life style, have a bit of experience with dogs, and like the challenge of living with dogs that are sometimes smarter than you are, then a Malinois may be right for you.

I know they are right for me and in May of 2000, a new Malinois girl came to live at Greyloch. She is now known as Ch. Carousel's Diamond By Design, CDX (Kaila). Thank you Catherine Shields, Carousel Malinois, for sending me the Red Girl from the Diamond litter, my Kaila girl.

At various shows I had seen Malinois bred by Lisa Swarthout of Bull Mountain Malinois. Lisa mentioned that she would be doing a repeat breeding to one of her bitches. I had seen the puppies from the first litter and knew that if at all possible, I wanted a male out of this breeding. Time went by and finally, on March 9, 2005, puppies arrived and there was a boy in there with my name on him. In May, Bull Mtns Distant Thunder (Strike) came to Idaho. Thanks so much Lisa, for letting the "blue boy" come to live with me.

These pages are dedicated to the three breeders who have trusted me with their puppies, Wendy Rosa, Catherine Shields and Lisa Swarthout.....I can't guarantee titles and ribbons and rosettes, but I can promise you that these dogs will always be loved. Thank you.

My Malinois

I've been training and showing dogs for most of my life so I was aware of the Malinois, but wasn't really attracted to them until I saw a particular six month old puppy bitch at a dog show. After visiting with her owner, I laughingly told her that if she ever bred this girl I might be interested in a puppy.

We kept bumping into each other at shows and the conversation was always about becoming a potential Malinois owner. Two years later I picked up a nine week old Malinois boy, Greyloch Friendly Persuasion (Mica). I've never looked back and I've never regretted that decision. Thank you, Wendy Rosa, of Wild Rosa Malinois, for my Mica Man.

Ever since I became interested in a Malinois, I have been advised that
