About the Artist

Although I have only been painting in watercolor for 2 years, I have been told I have a gift. I especially enjoy painting birds, botanicals, and petroglyphs. I was raised in Northern California and started painting at age 8 in oils and acrylics, pen and inks, and pastels. When I married and had my children I left my art behind, not thinking I had the time. Two years ago, at the encouragement of a friend, I attended a watercolor workshop and discovered I had a natural ability for the media. I continue to grow and learn and have not stopped painting watercolor since that time. I have had many exhibits in the last two years that have been highly successful. I have a degree from BYU in Zoology (Range Science) and a minor in Mathematics, but no formal education in art, being totally self taught except for the two times Ive attended workshops on plein-aire painting. In September 2000 I exhibited at the CEU Prehistoric Museum in Price Utah, and had many gracious complements on my work. I am again exhibiting in Price at the museum from September - the end of November of 2001. Another show is scheduled in Vernal Utah in July 2002 at the Western Heritage Museum. I was also honored to jury a selection of artists work for the Point Loma Magazine "The Driftwood" in 2002 for Point Loma University of Southern California.
