SUSAN ADAMS/Watercolor Painting
Career Summary Susan Adams grew up in a family of musicians and artists. Although she holds a BA degree in music, she spent many years as an animator and background illustrator. Her work can be seen in numerous award-winning children's interactive titles. "My experience as staff animator and illustrator has been invaluable. The discipline I derived from daily drawing in various styles under intense deadlines, the computer expertise I acquired and the immediate feedback I received from other professionals have inspired my growth as a fine artist." Susan is a featured artist in The Best of Flower Painting, North Light Books. She exhibits and sells her work at many fine art festivals. She is a juried member of Watercolor West. "My aim is to give a sense of weight and structure to the watercolor medium. Image is more interesting to me than process. I like still life because it is the most abstract of the representational idioms. Composing arrangements of ordinary objects is like placing colors and shapes in a collage. I invite the viewer to see beauty in the silent life of everyday things."
