"Open the World of Color"
Watercolors by Rita Stout I started painting in oils about 15 years ago and switched to watercolors about 10 years ago and I find I like it much more. The watercolors are much easier to handle. I have been specializing in painting from photos of people's homes. This has been very rewarding, when you see their face light up when they see their home painted or an ole' home place painted the color and the way it was years ago. I am wanting to get into painting pictures of animals. I have just started this endeavor, however with 13 grandchildren my time is very limited.
I have only entered one show however plan to enter more in the future. I paint realistic type paintings about 14" x 16" in size to fit a 16" x 20" mats. I frame, mat and finish for hanging all of my paintings. I like to have about three photos of a project to paint and I then discuss the colors with the individual to make sure it is correct. Your home is very personal to you just as your dog or cat and when I paint these items I take it very personal. I want it to be correct and done in a way that makes you proud to hang the picture in your home.
