About the Artist

I am a long time resident of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada -- in the heart of the Prairies. I spent my earlier years in a small town, Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, where I first became involved in painting through the encouragement of a high school teacher. In 1960, I began taking classes in oil painting. After a number of years of painting with oils, I started with watercolors. Over the years I have attended numerous workshops and classes, and I have also taught watercolor classes. From 1982-1990 I was a member of Broadway Painters, a group of local artists, who met weekly to share space and experience. Currently I am a member of Artists' Workshop since its inception in 1990. My paintings can be found in private collections and public offices in Saskatoon, across the province as well as across Canada, the United States, and many other countries.

Artist's Comments: "I spend many hours of enjoyment sketching on location, then painting in my home studio. My inspiration comes from my love of color and nature in our various seasons. Whether it be a familiar Saskatoon cityscape, a prairie or northern scene, I depict realistically that which is familiar to me and to the prairie people. From early spring until fall, my own garden flowers are a great inspiration to capture in watercolor and to give pleasure to myself and others in any season."
