Nicholas Simmons, Artist

Nicholas Simmons is one of the most exciting new artists on the watercolor scene. His large, non-traditional watercolor and acrylic paintings  instantly earn the admiration of artists in all mediums, and are sought by collectors, public and private. He has recently been the subject of a six-page article in the February 2007 issue of Watercolor Magic magazine, and will film a DVD for Creative Catalyst Productions in May 2007. Mr. Simmmons was featured twice on Maryland Public Television in 2006, and his work has been published in a variety of venues.  Some of his commissioned works have received media coverage in the Balt-Wash area.   Mr. Simmons also teaches his Watercolor On The Edge workshop, and may be contacted about visiting your area to instruct.
Gallery RoCa will put on another major solo show of Simmons' work in August-September, 2007 - look for a full page ad in an upcoming issue of American Art Collector magazine.
Mr. Simmons has been invited to exhibit in the 2007 Florence Biennale.
His influences include the many painters he has studied with, and the work of John Singer Sargent, Whistler, Sorolla, Klimt, Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Klee, Robert Motherwell, Andrew Wyeth, Andy Warhol, and Mauricio Lasansky.
