Maureen Howles, NMWS

Visual Artist, Maureen Howles

Maureen finds expression in working with a variety of mediums including watercolor, oil, monotype and photography. Her images vary stylistically from subjective naturalism to the semi-abstract. Shapes and colors of the southwestern deserts provide inspiration for the oil paintings, which often take an exploratory approach with improvised color and simplification of form. The watercolors are generally approached in the more disciplined tradition of naturalism. Maureen is a signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society, and an active member of the Santa Fe Society of Artists. Maureen resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico where her work has been displayed at various local and regional juried competitions.
