ABOUT THE ARTIST

Matthew Daub's watercolor paintings and drawings have been widely exhibited throughout the United States for over two decades. He has had over twenty one person exhibitions in galleries and museums in New York, Chicago and elsewhere, most recently at MB Modern Gallery in New York City in April of 1999. Upcoming solo exhibitions are scheduled for the Demuth Foundation in 2000 and The Reading (PA) Public Museum in 2001. Daub works have been included in numerous curated and invitational exhibitions at such prestigious institutions as The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The American Academy of Arts and Letters. In 1999 he was invited by American Artist and Forbes Magazine to paint on the Forbes Trinchera Ranch in Colorado. This project is featured in the Spring 2000 issue of Watercolor Magazine. In 1991 The Metropolitan Museum featured a Daub watercolor in their annual engagement calendar "American Watercolors." Matthew Daub is a Professor of Fine Art, specializing in watercolor painting at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He also is the director of ARTS SOJOURN, an annual plein air painting trip to Italy.

ARTS SOJOURN

ARTS SOJOURN is more than a traditional artists' workshop. It is a unique plein air painting and travel experience for artists and their friends. Each summer Matthew Daub and his wife Barbara lead a small group to a different location in Italy. Artists at all stages of their careers, from well known professionals to hobbyists have participated.
