Lei Iverson–Water Works

About the Artist

Lei Iverson's fresh impressions of life, along with her unique sense of color and form has brought distinguished splendor to all of her subjects, ranging from people to still life, seascapes to landscapes. Her work has met the demanding criteria of acceptance in both national and international exhibitions, winning her many awards and honors. Her art education includes classes and workshops at the Art Students League of New York, The Scottsdale Artists' School, The Salt Lake City Center for the Arts, San Jose University, Idaho State University, and Utah State University. Although all have affected her artistic perspective, she attributes her true growth from the inspiration and encouragement given to her by other artists and mentors. Included among these are the late Sergei Bongart. In turn, Lei gets great joy from teaching and helping others on their own quest to express themselves creatively. For the last three years, she has assisted at Ovanes Berberian's California Oil Painting Workshops and Idaho Oil Painting Workshops, one of the top plein air workshops in the country. Iverson has donated both her time and work to such nonprofit charities and organizations as the Mariel Hemingway's LB Cancer Fund Raiser (One-woman show and silent auction), The Arthritis Foundations of Palm Springs and Phoenix, KECH Public TV, CM Russell Museum and many other non profit organizations throughout the country. Her work is included in many private, corporate and international collections. Among the many collectors and ardent admirers of her work are actors Charlton Heston and Burt Reynolds just to mention a few. Iverson was born in Dallas, Texas, and has lived in CA, still spending several months a year there. She enjoys traveling, painting and teaching in the North and South West. Since much of her time is spent away from home, it's always refreshing to retreat to the quiet beauty of Idaho and the solitude of her home near Sun Valley.
