ONG KIM SENG AWS DF Ong, KimSeng, A.W.S.DF was born in Singapore and has been a full-time artist since 1985. KimSeng has held group and solo exhibitions at home and in the United States, China, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Middle East, Taiwan, Hong King, and the Asean countries. He has won five awards from the American Watercolor Society; the Paul B. Remmy Memorial Award in 1983, the Lucy B. Moore Award in 1988, the Clara Stroud memorial Award in 1989 , the Barse Miller Memorial Award in 1992 and the Winsor & Newton Award in 2000. He became an active member of the American Watercolor Society in 1990. He became a Dolphin Fellow of the AWS in 2000. In 1991, he was awarded the Cultural medallion for visual arts by the Ministry of Information and the Arts, Singapore. Awarded the "Ponnadai (Golden Shawl)" by the Kairalee Kala Nilayam in recognition of the artistic achievements given to Singapore in 1991. Awarded Pingat Apad by the Malay cultural group, Angkatan pelukis Aneka Daya in 1995. He is also an Art Advisor to the National Arts Council. In 1997, he organised the Asian Watercolours 1997 Singapore in Singapore in conjunction with Asian Watercolour Confederation's AGM in Singapore.
