Watercolor Online

I always had a keen interest in the arts, but, like many others, I waited until my career was well established and my family raised before giving serious study to my lifelong love...watercolor. At age 47, while living in California, I began studying with the late Jade Fon, the renowned San Francisco Bay Area watercolorist. Through his Diablo Valley College following and his nationally known Asilomar Watercolor Workshop, Jade Fon probably influenced more California watercolor artists than any other single person. I have also been influenced through study with Gerald Brommer and Tom Lynch in addition to participation in many workshops conducted by equally outstanding instructors. My paintings represent a variety of subject matter, but whether a landscape, a floral or a beach scene, I strive to develop a quite and uncluttered mood with the viewer. My goal is to create something in a painting with which the viewers can relate and make them feel good about what they see. I believe that a work of art is like an expression of love, it should not have to be explained. In addition to my original watercolor paintings, I produce high quality reproductions of my art in boxed note cards and prints. I am a retired public servant with over 36 years with the U. S. Air Force and the Federal Government. Upon my retirement I served as the Deputy Regional Administrator with the Southeast Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service in Atlanta, GA a position I also held for 15 years in San Francisco, CA with the Western Region. I currently reside with my wife near Clarksville, GA in the foot hills of the northeast Georgia mountains.
