Tropical Watercolors by Jinx Morgan

California born artist Jinx Morgan now makes her home on the island of Tortola and her watercolors reflect the fresh colors and brilliant light that are distinctively Caribbean. Inspired by the strong sun and shadow patterns of the tropics as well as the charming villages and spectacular scenery of her island home, her paintings depict the easygoing life of the Caribbean. She has studied with David Millard, Judi Betts, James Godwin Scott, Jeanne Dobie and Carolyn Lord.Four of her paintings were chosen to hang on the walls of the Legislative Council of the British Virgin Islands. Her paintings are also included in private collections in the United States, Canada, England, Italy and Austria as well as in the Caribbean. On Tortola her works are on view at Sunny Caribbee and Caribbean Fine Arts Galleries in Roadtown, at Bambooshay at Nanny Cay and at the Sugar Mill Gallery at the Sugar Mill Hotel on the North Shore. In St. Thomas her work can be viewed at Mango Tango Gallery Jinx and her husband Jeff are the owners of The Sugar Mill Hotel on Tortola and are also contributing editors for Bon Appetit magazine where their articles on food and travel appear regularly.
