Helen's paintings feature courtyards, florals, architectural, landscapes, and Italy.
Helen K. Beacham was born in Montreal, Canada in 1952. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1981 where she now lives in Midtown Memphis with her family and where she currently maintains her studio and gallery.

It wasn't until she moved to Memphis that Helen decided to explore her appetite for the creative process. She began her studies with renowned artist, Brandon Bethea Brown, and has since studied with such well-known artists as Stephan Kramer, Dick Phillips, Barbara Nechis, Christopher Schink, Katherine Chang Liu, Brent Funderburk and many others.

Helen's works are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States as well as in Sweden, England, Kuwait and Canada. She has shown her work in solo shows as well as in group shows, both nationally and internationally. She is a past President of the Memphis/Germantown Art League and currently teaches watercolor as a way of allowing others to explore this fascinating medium. Helen has over 15 limited edition reproductions in her portfolio.

Helen and her husband, Ray, have recently returned from a trip to Italy and Helen has already begun her latest watercolor series depicting the beautiful mountain towns throughout Tuscany and other parts of Italy.

Artist's Philosophy

"Being an artist is a responsibility and a challenge. A responsibility to think like an artist, to capture a moment in time, to interpret that moment and to share it with others. A responsibility also to teach others by opening their minds and hearts to the possibilities that lie within themselves.

"The challenge I face as an artist is to never stay comfortably where I am but to look back at where I've been and then bravely forge ahead. That philosophy has gotten me where I am today and I can't wait for what's around the corner."
