We offer painting and pastels courses for all abilities in some of the most inspiring locations that East Anglia has to offer. At East Coast Arts we have a wealth of experience in organising enjoyable and stimulating painting courses for everyone from absolute beginners to experienced and accomplished amateur artists. Whatever stage you are at in your artistic journey - we have courses to suit you. Where we teach: East Coast Arts courses take place in a variety of wonderful locations in East Anglia. Unlike many other courses, on an East Coast Arts course you are not tied to the same classroom all year round. East Anglia is a huge area, encompassing the beautiful counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Each has its own wonderful character with hauntingly beautiful coastal inlets; marshland dotted with windmills; pretty country villages; busy harbours and quiet creeks; wonderful coastal towns and majestic cathedral cities - and all, of course, under our magnificent huge skies. No single venue can offer the chance to paint them all - at least not without a lot of time- wasting travelling during the course which would cut down your tuition and painting time. So to give you the most choice of painting subjects - from windmills and seascapes to cathedral cities and bustling harbours - we base our courses right in the heart of each inspiring location. Where to stay: Because we base courses in so many different locations we cannot offer residential accommodation at our bases around East Anglia. However it is readily available at each location and a full list of local B & B's, hotels and inns for each area can be sent on request. In the evenings you are free to continue with your work or enjoy a drink or a meal with us in the local pub.

Poppyland In the heart of Norfolk’s beautiful Poppyland region, Upper Sheringham offers stunning coastal and inland views. Even in the height of summer this hidden gem of a location offers a peaceful setting with perfect painting locations. Blakeney Beautiful Blakeney with its bustling harbour and dozens of creeks leading out to sea is any artist’s dream. The pretty ,narrow lanes of this picture-postcard village and the superb harbour make perfect painting material available all around. Walberswick A true gem of the Suffolk coastline, Walberswick has been loved by artists through the ages. Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Philip Wilson Steer and Edward Wesson are just some of the wonderful painters who have come here for inspiration and still today it’s timeless quality remains. Ely ‘Enchanting Ely’ is how the city is known, and quite rightly so. With it’s busy and picturesque market square, pretty lanes and by-ways and the magnificence of its wonderful Cathedral give perfect opportunities for all painters.
