Doris Raecke Born in Germany and raised in Venezuela, I received my first watercolor set on my fifth birthday. I took different art courses in Venezuela and the U.S. (New York and Pittsburg) and held my first individual exhibit in 1976 in Caracas (oil paintings). Currently I am a member of the Venezuelan Watercolor Association and of the "Circulo de Dibujo" in Caracas (Caracas Drawing Circle).
My greatest joy in painting is to capture the essence of people by reflecting their facial expression. Each person is unique. Ethnic and cultural diversity make portrait painting an incredibly attractive challenge.
