Joseph Fettingis, NWS

- Watercolor Workshops -

Day Dreamer

The watercolor workshops that Mr. Fettingis conducts throughout the USA are designed around the student. He feels very strongly that each student has to know "how" and "why" a passage in a painting works. If this does not happen, the students just copy the teacher without knowing what they are doing. This is not encouraged in his workshops!

The workshops will focus on the intensity of the color and how to paint with STRONG, BOLD COLORS. Also, the student will learn how to control MOISTURE and how to mix colors to avoid "muddy" colors. Topics like brush handling and how values play an important role as you are painting will also be discussed.

Horse Running Thru Water #2

Because artists are a visual bunch, Mr. Fettingis will explain the WHYS and HOWS during his demonstrations in an easy and logical way so that no matter what the students' levels are, they will be able to go home and paint with more knowledge and without guessing.
