About the Artist

Nancy, a native of San Diego, California, has been active in fine art and illustration for over thirty years.

She has exhibited in most of the major National watercolor competitions in America and is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. Her awards are many and her latest include awards from the San Diego Watercolor Society International Exhibition and the Adirondack Exhibition of American Watercolors.

Nancy’s inspiration can be found in the work of Sorolla, Frank Weston Benson, Wyeth and Burton Silverman. She has traveled and painted throughout Ireland, England, the Northeastern area of the United States and the Pacific Coast region of Mexico.

She is included in private and corporate collections in America and Europe including a series of five paintings for Scripp’s Hospital Women’s Center, La Jolla, CA.

Publications include Rockport Publishers ‘Watercolor Expressions’ and North Light Magazine, author/featured artist. She is also included in eight separate Who’s Who reference books.

Nancy is represented by The Newman Galleries, Philadelphia, PA.

Artist’s Statement

I paint the things I love rather than what might currently be ‘in vogue’. Antique pieces of china, a bit of lace, a watergarden....bright sunlight on familiar forms that take on new meaning. When I truly like the things I’m painting my enjoyment of the process becomes a part of the painting and the viewer will feel this connection and enjoy the painting too.
