| Ann Warmbir is a talented self-taught watercolorist who always had a desire to depict watercolors in a realistic way. Growing up in a coal mining community in West Virginia, there were few opportunities for aspiring artists. Watercolor paintings were considered toys. Years passed; and after following a military careerist throughout all regions of the country and raising a family, the desire to pursue painting returned with much enthusiasm. | ||

| Her paintings consist mostly of transparent watercolors on paper, with a limited number of acrylic paints. To create realistic images that are both pleasing and stimulating is her goal, and she strives to render accuracy in each painting. Ann's artwork is not restricted to any category of subject matter but reflects various interests, people, and places that have touched her throughout life. A large photographic library maintained by her husband has been invaluable for research and inspiration. | ||

| Painting brings much joy to this artist's life. It is common for her to concentrate so intensely that she tends to lose herself into the painting, touching every board or column, feeling the warm sunshine on a beach, or arranging every soft curl on a child's head. Time ceases to exist when she is working in her studio. | ||
